Your Call: Slavery in the global fishing industry

Tuna

On the March 3rd edition of Your Call, we’re examining slavery in the global fishing industry. February 24, 2016 President Obama signed a trade bill banning U.S. imports made by slaves and children. The bill comes after a series of investigations revealing rampant abuse and exploitation in South East Asia's fishing industry.

Where does our fish come from? How effective will the new ban be at deterring forced labor?

It’s Your Call, with guest host Renee Kemp and you.

Guest:
Martha Mendoza, investigative reporter, Associated Press
