Your Call: The root causes of the Flint water crisis

On the February 23rd edition of Your Call, we’ll have a conversation about the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.

In 2014, a state-appointed emergency manager running the city changed its water source from the treated Detroit Water system to the corrosive Flint River. The switch has caused a public health disaster. Lead-contaminated water has affected nearly all of the city’s 100,000 residents, forcing them to drink bottled water. What are the root causes of Flint’s water crisis? Join the conversation, on the next Your Call, with Rose Aguilar and you.

Guests:

Jacob Lederman, assistant Professor of sociology at the University of Michigan-Flint

Rochelle Riley, award-winning columnist at the Detroit Free Press, and co-chair of the National Association of Black Journalists Global Journalism Task Force
