Your Call: How does fair trade coffee affect the lives of small scale farmers?

On the June 24th edition of Your Call, we’ll have a conversation about Connected by Coffee, a documentary about the lives and history of the people who grow coffee. Over a billion cups of coffee are consumed every day. The industry is worth over $100 billion, but most rural coffee growers live in poverty. What can we do to support farmers using fairly traded coffee as a tool for social justice? Do you know where your coffee comes from? It’s Your Call with Rose Aguilar, and you.

Guests:

Chelsea Dennis, producer of Connected by Coffee

Matt Earley, co-founder of the Just Coffee Cooperative  in Madison, Wisconsin

Rich Soenksen, co-owner of the Ubuntu Coffee Cooperative in Emeryville
