On Tuesday, the Senate Budget Committee voted 12-11, on party lines, to send the Republican tax bill to the floor for a full vote by as soon as Thursday.
The GOP’s tax bill includes the repeal of the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate and $1.5 trillion in tax cuts that mostly benefit the wealthy and corporations. What’s at stake and what can stop it? What implications will it have for income inequality, jobs, and public services?
