Also on Saturday, the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals turns 20 years old. What’s the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals you ask? It’s the annual event where the Bay Area’s finest dachshunds dash to the finish line, competing to be crowned the Bay Area’s Top Dog. Everyone is welcomed to watch the race, starting at 12:30 p.m. at the Santa Clara County Fairground’s North Lawn in San Jose. More details can be found at wwnraces.com. KALW’s "Crosscurrents" covered the race back in 2009. You can listen to that story here.
