San Francisco Proposition F asks the city to consider draining the Hetch Hetchy reservoir, a source of 80 percent of San Francisco's water. KALW’s Ben Trefny talked with PJ Johnston, the spokesman for the No on Proposition F campaign, and asked him why passing Proposition F would be a bad idea.
JOHNSTON: This idea, draining Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, has been studied at least seven times in the past 30 years, and everytime they come back and say, 'Well, we could do it, but the cost in real dollars and the elimination of safe, reliable drinking water and clean, hydroelectric power are so enormous that, frankly, the city would be crazy to do it'.
