Curator Ashara Ekundayo is the definition of a modern renaissance woman — her work bridges art, food, tech, and community. Her latest project, the newly opened Ashara Ekundayo Gallery in Oakland, is a space that will showcase new work by Black women, women of the African Diaspora, and their collaborators. Ashara came to KALW’s studios to talk with Jen Chien about why she wanted to create this space.
Ashara Ekundayo Gallery's first exhibit, “Obvious Magic: This Womanist Imaginary” will be up until April 14th.
