Media Roundtable: The Prospect Of Peace In Afghanistan & Trump's Eleventh-Hour Policy Changes

On this edition of Your Call’s media roundtable, we are discussing negotiations between the Afghan government and the Taliban and deadly attacks on the civilian population. This year alone, nearly 300,000 Afghans have been internally displaced.

Later in the show, we are talking about the Trump administration's rush to approve dozens of eleventh-hour policy changes. Among them, the Justice Department is fast-tracking a rule that could reintroduce firing squads and electrocutions for federal executions.

Guests:

Ali Latifi, freelance reporter based in Kabul, Afghanistan

Isaac Arnsdorf, reporter at ProPublica covering national politics
