Is it time to bust the data monopolies?

If knowledge is power, the companies that collect user data have incredible amounts of it. On this edition of Your Call, we’ll talk about information monopolies – the megacorporations who harvest and profit from our personal information.

We’ll also talk about companies beyond social media (for instance, those free tax preparation services) whose business depends on access to our personal information. Can data privacy regulation protect us? Or is it time for digital-era monopoly-busting?
