This week on Open Air, guest host Peter Robinson talks with Riley Costello about the Peninsula premiere of the musical ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’, which opens HillbarnTheatre’s 2017–18 season, this Saturday.

Costello, who directs this production of ‘Hunchback’ (running through September 10), started his career as an actor at Hillbarn before moving to New York, where he performed in several Broadway shows.

Also stopping by is Ryan Blauvelt, executive director of the San Francisco Wind Ensemble, to share details about the opening concert of its sixth concert season, this Saturday, August 26, at Aragon High School (900 Alameda de las Pulgas, San Mateo). Conductor Troy Davis leads the ensemble in a program with music by Antón Alcalde, Igor Stravinsky, and Eric Whitacre.

Plus, we hear host Peter Robinson’s tribute to American singer, guitarist, and songwriter Glenn Campbell, who recently passed away; and he also reviews three movies: ‘The Founder’, and ‘Icarus’ (both just released on Netflix), and ‘The Exception’, with Christopher Plummer.

Open Air with guest host Peter Robinson, heard live on August 24, 2017. Listen now or anytime…
