Your Call

How are formerly homeless people fighting homelessness?

Inside the shelter at Hospitality House, a community based service organization in San Francisco. 90 percent of its staff have had experience similar to those it serves.

On this edition of Your Call, we ask: What changes when a nonprofit serving the homeless is led by people who used to be clients?

As the homeless crisis grows across the country, we’ll hear about solutions from people with direct experience. How does the mission and strategy of an organization change when the people it serves determine how it runs? And how do these advocates envision a future where homelessness nonprofits are eliminated?
