Redwood Tango Ensemble is a sextet from Oakland, dedicated to both traditional Argentine tango music and original tango composition.
Their growing repertoire of original compositions by bandoneonist Charles Gorczynski is centered around the creative and wide-reaching modern tango composers in Argentina and around the world. The group was recently awarded a grant from the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music for several new tango compositions, which will be performed this Sunday at the Community Music Center. They join host Devon Strolovitch live in the studio this Wednesday 8/24 at 9 pm for a preview.
