Ex-Marine Confronts Terminal Cancer In Prison

Apr 13, 2020

From the project Uncuffed:

Having cancer is bad enough. But what if you had it in prison? Raymond Brassfield is an ex-marine with leukemia. He’s been told it will kill him.

After publishing this piece, KALW came upon information that Brassfield may not have served in the military and/or have cancer. We are attempting to verify the story.

"I dodged bombs and bullets for a long time, so I accepted you live, you learn, you teach, you die."
