This week on Open Air, host David Latulippe talks with radio host and standup comedian Maureen Langan about her new solo show ‘Daughter of aGarbageman’, on stage at The Marsh in San Francisco through March 25.

Conductor Robert Geary joins us in the studio to share details about the upcoming concerts by vocal ensemble Volti, titled ‘Mantras, Miracles, Meditations’, this weekend in Berkeley (March 3) and San Francisco (March 4), featuring ‘Roncevalles’, the first installment of the four-part composition ‘Path of Miracles’ by English composer Joby Talbot, to be performed in its entirety in early 2018.

Also stopping by is San Francisco Ballet’s primary guest conductor Ming Luke, to discuss ‘Must-SeeBalanchine’, three masterpieces by legendary choreographer George Balanchine, set to music by Stravinsky, Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky, which opens March 7.

We hear the second part of David’s interview with composer John Adams, in celebration of his 70th birthday and recent performances of his work by the San Francisco Symphony.

Plus, now that Spring is in the air, regular contributor and critic at large Peter Robinson explores the great outdoors in the Bay Area, and has tips for trails, hiking, biking and sailing.
