City Visions Election Coverage: Sheriff candidates Mirkarimi and Hennessy discuss differences

Monday, October 19:  As part of City Vision's election coverage, guest host Eric Jansen sat down with the incumbent, Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi and his challengers, former interim Sheriff Vicki Hennessy and former Sheriff's Lieutenant John Robinson, to discuss the issues at stake in the election for Sheriff of the City and County of San Francisco.

Topics will include treatment of prisoners, what it means to be a sanctuary city, housing for transgender prisoners, and more.

Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi:  Sheriff of San Francisco since 2011.  Former member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

Vicki Hennessy:  Appointed by Mayor Lee as Interim Sheriff and became the city's first female Sheriff.   Member of the Sheriff's department since 1975.

John Robinson:  Owner and Operator of Inter-State Security, Inc.;  Member of the San Francisco Sheriff's Department from 1974 until he retired in 1994 as Sheriff's Lieutenant.
