"Is the rent too damn high?" Those in favor of the state ballot measure Proposition 10 have used that as a rallying cry in their effort to get the current rent control law repealed.
Yet, economists on both the left and the right agree that rent control can limit the amount of affordable housing available. Millions of dollars are being spent on this campaign. What's the right solution?
