Republican Congressman Andy Harris from Maryland joins three others in introducing “the Medical Marijuana Research Act of 2016, which would remove barriers to cannabis research. A group of bipartisan Senators plan to introduce a similar bill in the Senate.” This is notable because Harris has been “one of the House's most prominent anti-marijuana voices.”

California Senator Dianne Feinstein voted against the measure.
