California’s statewide medical cannabis bill put on hold // EastBayExpress   The widely supported bill was tabled because of it’s $20 million estimated implementation cost.

San Francisco’s Sunset District continues blocking dispensaries // Pressreader.com  The City has more registered medical marijuana users than any other part of the state, but “traditional Chinese attitudes toward illegal drugs,” with support from City Hall, makes it difficult to open a medical marijuana dispensary in this neighborhood. [The neighborhood is highly Asian.]

Rural Humboldt County dispensaries approved // lostcoastoutpost.com      A four-year ban on marijuana dispensaries in unincorporated areas of the Emerald Triangle has been lifted.

Oakland cannot stop Harborside closure case // SFGate.com   “The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals agreed Thursday that Oakland has interests of its own at stake, but said the federal government has the authority to decide when to seek confiscation of property for alleged legal violations, and neither the city nor any other outsider has the right to intervene.”

Santa Cruz growers plan to fight county ordinance // SantaCruzSentinal.com   Last week’s raids, based on aerial images, included “a lot of people in the 99-plant rule” allowed by county ordinance, according to an attorney examining the situation.
