Amy Kisch's Weekend Picks

Sights and Sounds is your weekly guide to the Bay Area arts scene through the eyes and ears of local artists. During shelter in place, instead of recommending in-person events, we're offering ways to experience art and culture from home. This week, host Jenee Darden speaks with Amy Kisch to talk about three things to see, hear and do at home.

The GLBT Historical Society has partnered with the San Francisco Arts Commission for this online exhibition celebrating San Francisco Pride. You can see 100 photographs, posters, and magazine covers, etc from this event that is so loved in San Francisco and around the world. A physical version of the exhibition will open at San Francisco City Hall later this year.

Presented by the Last Supper Society, every Friday at 7pm there's a different guest, host, and dish. The cool part is that you can order the meal kits from these Sacramento cooks in advance and cook with them at the same time. A different non-profit benefits from the kits that are purchased each week.

This great organization for youth has always been dedicated educating different communities in the arts, and their YouTube channel is now teaching breakdancing, ballet, rap, and tons of other classes.

Amy Kisch is an art consultant and the founder of Art+Action Coalition which launched the Come to Your Census campaign. Visit Census.gov to learn more about taking the Census.
