Since Sacramento police shot and killed Stephon Clark in his grandmother’s backyard last month, protests have taken to the streets almost everyday.
Clark is just one of more than 275 people shot and killed by police around the country so far this year, according to the Washington Post’s officer-involved shooting database. KALW’s justice reporter Holly J. McDede came into the studio to talk about what’s next for police reform efforts here in the Bay Area and around California.

"The history of failed police-reform bills in California does make it seem unlikely to pass. As usual, it'll be a major uphill battle and face serious opposition from police unions and law enforcement lobbyists with deep pockets."
