Governor Gavin Newsom announced on Tuesday that the state will provide nearly $300 million in funding to close homeless encampments across California. Half of this funding will be used to close encampments near state and Interstate highways.

On November 16, the state’s Public Utilities Commission approved a rate hike for PG&E customers that will increase residential rates more than $20 a month for electric-only customers.
