The King of Sorrow
by Alex Hong
Sorrow filled the air as time seemed to stop.
Seconds turned to minutes.
From the distance a loud whine and whine.
The ambulance carried a boy into the back.
A civilian came, rushing to the boy’s side.
A mother cried loudly as they took him away.
The air was thick,
Full of pain.
The boy felt agony as the pain shot through his body over and over again.
The ambulance rode away loudly with the civilian and the boy.
The others were left with broken windows and shattered hearts,
as the whirrs and whines fade into the background.
All seemed to be lost with disappointment and sorrow.
