Five hours of continuous performances live in the KALW studios on Saturday October 13 from 3 to 8 pm, showcasing some of the Bay Area's top acoustic music talent. Hosted by JoAnn Mar, Kevin Vance, and Peter Thompson, with sound by Tony Ferro and Phil Hartman. 3 pm WorldSong - Eight-member acapella ensemble led by music director Betsy Blakeslee, singing folk songs from different cultures.
3:45 pm Aoife Scott - Irish singer-songwriter, daughter of singer (and now Senator) Frances Black, and member of The Black Family's next generation. Accompanied by guitarist Andy Meaney.
4:15 pm Tim Bluhm—Frontman and lead singer with Mother Hips is on his own, performing solo. He'll debut songs from his forthcoming CD.
5:00 pm Conspiracy of Beards is a chorus of as many as 30+ men’s voices who sing the songs of Leonard Cohen. Wearing cool fedora hats, too.
5:45pm Cascada De Flores is Arwen Lawrence and Jorge Liceaga, along with others. They’ll sing, dance, explore, and celebrated the music of Mexico and Cuba.
6:30 pm Amy Scher (vocals, fiddle, guitar)and Hailey Pexton (vocals, guitar, mandolin) are a duet dedicated to playing American traditional music.
7:30 pm Richard Brandenburg & Lucy Salcido Carter dig deep into the country/bluegrass repertoire, as well as some soulful originals.
