Do you know where you’ll be this weekend? If you are hoping to find some fun without traveling too far, we have a few highlights on what to see and do over the weekend here in the Bay Area.
Tomorrow evening marks the final performance in Foster City’s Summer Concert Series. The Hillbarn Theater will close the summer with a musical review starting at 6:00 p.m., lasting until sundown. Everyone is welcome to the free performance at Leo J. Ryan Park on Shell Boulevard in Foster City. You are encouraged to bring friends, picnic favorites, and your dancing shoes.
On Saturday, local guinea pigs, and their owners, are invited to come on down to the 2015 “Pignic” Guinea Pig Festival, taking place at the Marin Humane Society in Novato. Starting at 10:00 a.m., you can expect: costume contests, health checks for your guinea pigs, a bake sale for humans, and a vegetable eating contest (not for humans). All guinea pigs are welcome to attend, but please leave any other furry friends at home.
San Francisco’s Japantown hosts Origami-Palooza this Sunday afternoon. In addition to live presentations by origami experts, they will also host workshops to teach you how to make some paper magic yourself. You will also have a chance to lend your hands to a public art installation that will be displayed later in City Hall, and try your luck at a paper plane competition. Origami-Palooza, this Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Japan Center Malls at Post & Buchanan.
