Welcome to How We Got Here, a new every so often public affairs program from KALW News. How We Got Here is about complex and current realities around the globe, across the country, and in the Bay Area. With each episode, we take a look at a complicated issue, break it down by adding context and insight, and hopefully make it a little less complicated and a lot more understandable for you. Hosted by Sunni Khalid.

Gaza: Today and the Day After

So how did we get here and where do we go from here? In the first episode, we heard from Hussein Ibish and Rashid Khalidi. In the second episode, we hear from William Zartman, a professor emeritus at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C.

In mid-November, I spoke with William Zartman, a professor emeritus at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C.

Zartman is widely regarded as one of the foremost scholars on negotiations and has been brought in as a consultant to various peace negotiations across the globe. That was I. William Zartman, professor emeritus from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. You have been listening to “How We Got Here,” a Public Affairs production by KALW News. I'm your host, SUNY Haled. Well, this show has provided context, insight, and some new information that will make the situation in Gaza as well as the larger relationship between Israel and the Palestinians. A little easier to understand.

Professor I. William Zartman, Jr., professor emeritus, Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies.

We welcome your comments@feedbackatkw.org. In the future, we plan to untangle the fentanyl overdose crisis in San Francisco, as well as the failure to find a solution to the homeless crisis here in the Bay Area and across the nation.
