Participate in Hear Here: A Pop-Up Radio Project

Hear Here is currently collecting stories on the theme of WORK. What story do you always tell when you're trying to explain your job? Out of all the jobs you've held, which one most defined you? What do you consider work? What does work mean to you? Share your thoughts and memories here with your computer's built-in microphone.

Just follow these steps:

1) Hit record below! (Don't see a record button? Recorder may not be visible on all browsers. Firefox recommended.)
2) Say your name and which neighborhood of Oakland or San Francisco that you live in. Then tell your story.
3) Give your story a title, then click "Share" and sign in to submit your audio story. You can log in with a Facebook account or create a free Soundcloud account.

Hear Hear: A Pop-Up Radio Project

Over the next 12 months, KALW 91.7FM Local Public Radio will be asking the residents of San Francisco and Oakland to tell stories of how they Work, Eat, Love, Play, Worship, and Create. We want you to share what’s important in your life – your projects, your relationships, your passions – to help us put the “public” back in “public media.” Together, we’ll illuminate life in these two cities, just miles apart, and draw out the common threads that tie us together. And we’ll share what we’ve learned on air, online, on stage, and in public.

How does it work?
