Create Hope: Sponsor a Student Intern This Summer

San Francisco high school students pursuing careers in finance, law, hospitality, information technology, health sciences and biotech are looking for summer internship opportunities.

When you host a student from San Francisco
’s career academies for a summer internship, everybody wins.  The student gets valuable experience doing real work.  Your company gets summer help and public recognition for building opportunities for young people.  And our community comes closer together.

If you work at a company or nonprofit that wants to make a contribution to the Bay Area’s future, please contact Lynn Garcia at 415-379-7769 or via e-mail at garcial@sfusd.edu.

There are many ways companies and professionals can support San Francisco students, including job shadowing, mentorships, and guest speaking.  At whatever level of commitment, there's a way for you to get involved.  Find all the details at the SFUSD Career Technical Education website.

KALW & The San Francisco Unified School District

Since 1941, the San Francisco Unified School District has been KALW's licensee.  Over the past sixty-five years, KALW has played an evolving role in SFUSD's educational mission, broadcasting the District's Board meetings, creating programming focused on educational issues, and providing opportunities for student learning and expression.

KALW's studios are located on the campus of Philip & Sala Burton Academic High School, on the ridge between the Portola District and Visitacion Valley.
