How are the lives of transgender people under increasing threat?

The National Center for Transgender Equality Center reports state legislatures have filed 42 bills explicitly targeting transgender people. Bills range from permitting discrimination based on religious beliefs to prohibiting access to bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with one’s gender identity. The murders of seven transgender women of color so far this year is also raising alarm bells.
