Every Wednesday until the day after Election Day, Your Call will host a special second hour at 11 a.m. Each week, Rose Aguilar and guests will discuss California's crucial races, propositions, and regional measures.
This week, we’ll examine California's 11 propositions covering a wide array of issues from rent control and the repeal of the gas tax hike to approving bond measures for water conservation and hospital construction. We'll also discuss the influence of money in California's political campaigns. According to a MapLight analysis of data from the California Secretary of State, oil and gas interests and its members have contributed more than $112 million to ballot measure campaigns, $9 million to state candidates, and $61 million to other California political action committees and party committees.
