Weekend Go-Tos for November 20, 2015

We have scoured our sources to bring you a few suggestions of special events happening around the Bay Area this weekend.

Today is the 17thAnnual Transgender Day of Remembrance, a day of tribute to those who have lost their lives to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice, and raise awareness of the threat of abuse faced by the transgender community. Tonight, the San Francisco LGBT Center will hold a public event to mark the day, which will include speakers and refreshments. From 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the SF LGBT Center, 1800 Market Street.

Tomorrow is International Games Day, and the Marin City Library Branch is celebrating. Kids and grown-ups are invited to bring their favorite table games, board games, and card games to share with their neighbors. The library will also have plenty of games available to play too. Happening from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Marin City Library Branch, 164 Donahue Street in Marin City.

Wear your best at this Sunday's Vintage Paper Fair.

For all of the papyrophiliacs out there, this Sunday, you’ll want to check out the Vintage Paper Fair. From 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Elks Lodge in Walnut Creek will be transformed into haven for fans of vintage postcards, envelopes, stationary, and posters.

We are always on the hunt for great events happening in all corners of our Bay Area. If you have a suggestion for an upcoming community event, especially one happening in the North, South or East Bay Area, send us an email with all the details to ashleyanne [at] kalw.org.
