It wasn’t easy to find at first. The Dogpatch Navigation Center is located on the waterfront, at the end of 25th St. and Michigan, on the southeast side of San Francisco.
Nestled between a MUNI train parking area and a construction company, it’s a collection of colorful pods and murals.
Two things stand out: there aren’t any people hanging around, and it's quiet and serene.
Three more Navigation Centers are slated to open in the near future: on South Van Ness between 26th street and Cesar Chavez; in South of Market on Jessie Street; and at San Francisco General Hospital, where staffers will specialize in mental health issues.
