On Saturday (Aug. 18th) from 6:30 - 8:00 pm, the celebration of live bluegrass recordings continues on "Bluegrass Signal." Featured are the Good Ol' Persons (pictured) live in Canada and the Netherlands and Hot Rize live in Winfield, Kansas. Both bands were grounded in traditional bluegrass, and both took the music to some new places. In addition, both bands featured compelling songwriters/lead singers (Kathy Kallick and Tim O'Brien), adventurous players (John Reischman, Sally Van Meter, Paul Shelasky, Kevin Wimmer, Charles Sawtelle, Pete Wernick)-- and both perform "Blue Night." Saturday's show also features a few new releases and musical previews, as well as the area's most comprehensive calendar of Bay Area bluegrass events, but the emphasis is on two compelling sessions:
GOOD OL' PERSONS (Canada/Netherlands, 1985-1991) Blue Night Broken Tie Now the Time Has Come To Go Sally Johnson You Don't Miss Your Water Part Of A Story
