Clean power for San Francisco

Barbara Hale, Assistant General Manager of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission

Close to 8,000 San Francisco homes and businesses were automatically enrolled in CleanPowerSF in May of 2016.

CleanPowerSF is a locally-managed power supplier that gives customers the option to get more renewable energy than they currently get through PG&E.

Customers can choose the Green package, which has 35 percent renewable energy, or the Super Green package, which is totally renewable. Barbara Hale from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission tells us how it works and what we can do to meet our city's climate goals.

Barbara Hale: We're saying "only" and that's true, but wow that's 8,000! It used to be zero! We're looking at that as a starting point.
