KALW  WAIT WAIT…DON’T TELL ME 20TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW DRAWING

OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE, DONATION OR PLEDGE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN; a purchase, donation, or pledge will not increase your chances of winning.

HOW TO ENTER:   There are two ways to enter the drawing. 

(1) Entry via donation/pledge:  Participants who make a donation or pledge to KALW either on-line or by telephone will be automatically entered into the drawing.  To make a donation on-line, visit KALW.org.  To make a donation by telephone, please call 800-525-9917.

(2) Entry without donation/pledge: To enter into the drawing without making a donation/pledge, please call 800-525-9917.

Entries must be submitted between 6:00 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 and 10:05 a.m. PT on Saturday, September 15, 2018.  KALW is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, corrupted, or misdirected entries. The information you provide will be used consistent with KALW’s Privacy Policy.

ELIGIBILITY: You must be a legal U.S. resident 21 years of age or older physically residing in the 50 United States (includes DC) to enter or win.  Residents of New York or Florida are not eligible to enter or win.  Employees of KALW, and the immediate family (parent, spouse, sibling, child, grandparent, grandchild) and household members of all such employees, are NOT eligible. Promotion is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void in New York, Florida, and where prohibited or restricted by law.

ENTRY PERIODS, ENTRY DEADLINES, AND WINNER SELECTION TIMES FOR PRIZES: The promotion will take place from 6:00 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 and 10:05 a.m. PT on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Entries must be received by 10:05 a.m. PT on September 15, 2018.  Only one entry per person. 

PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES:

One (1) winner will be selected and will receive the following:

  • Two (2) complimentary tickets to our special 20th anniversary show at the Chicago Theatre on Thursday, October 25, 2018
  • Roundtrip airfare for two (2) to Chicago
  • Hotel accommodations for two (2) nights in downtown Chicago

Total ARV $1,500.00
Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.  Taxes on prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prizes are non-transferable and no substitution or cash equivalent is allowed except in KALW’s sole discretion.  

Prize consists only of items specifically listed as part of the prize. All costs and expenses not specified herein, related to the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prizes will be fulfilled by September 20, 2018.

SELECTION OF THE WINNER:  Prize will be awarded in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received. Drawing will be conducted in accordance with these Official Rules.  KALW’s decisions on all matters related to the drawing are binding and final. Winner will be notified by phone at the phone number provided on or about September 15th and will be required to respond within six hours, or the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be chosen.

For the winner, check KALW’s website at kalw.org between September 15th and September 21st, 2018. 

PUBLICITY RELEASE: Except where prohibited, acceptance of a prize constitutes winners’ consent that his or her name, likeness, voice and/or biographical data may be used for promotional purposes without limitation and without additional notice, compensation, or consent.

RELEASE: By entering, participant agrees to accept and abide by the rules of this drawing and agrees that any dispute with regard to the conduct of this drawing, rule interpretation, or award of prize shall be submitted to KALW, whose decision shall be binding and final. By participating, participant agrees to release and hold harmless KALW and its respective officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives as well as any person or entity that donates to KALW any prize awarded pursuant to this drawing from any injury, loss or damage to person, including death, or property due in-whole or in-part, directly or indirectly, to the acceptance or use/misuse of a prize, participation in any drawing-related activity, or participation in the drawing.

KALW is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of these Official Rules, administration of the drawing or in the announcement of prizes, including erroneous appearance of qualification for a prize, and under no circumstances will more than the stated number of prizes be awarded. If for any reason KALW is prevented from continuing with this drawing, or the integrity and/or feasibility of the drawing is severely undermined by any event including but not limited to fire, flood, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, or any federal, state or local government law, order or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction, KALW shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to abbreviate, modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the drawing without further obligation. If KALW in its discretion elects to so abbreviate the drawing, KALW reserves the right, but not the obligation, to award the prize from among all eligible entries received to date. All entries are the property of KALW and are not returnable.

PRIVACY:  Personally identifiable information that is submitted by entrants will be used to administer the drawing, select prize winner, and fulfill prize, and will be treated in accordance with KALW’s privacy Policy, available at http://kalw.org/privacy-policy.

Matt Martin was KALW’s general manager from 2006 through 2018. Under his leadership, KALW grew into one of the most productive and innovative stations in public radio. Programs launched at KALW during Matt’s tenure as GM include the award-winning local newsmagazine Crosscurrents, the design podcast 99% Invisible, and the Spanish-language narrative journalism program Radio Ambulante. He helped create the station’s Audio Academy, a year-long program aimed at developing new talents in public radio, and led the first broad-based strategic planning process in the station’s history.
