The singing and piano playing you’re hearing comes from Brad Brooks of San Francisco. He’s performing tomorrow, May 14, at the Bazaar Cafe on California Street in San Francisco. He joins Allyson Paige, who has a Songwriter Residency there. Music begins around 7pm.

If Picture Atlantic, the band you’re hearing now, were a wine, you might detect “notes of Coldplay.” That band was a big influence on Picture Atlantic’s founder, and their sound carries over to this band. They’re playing Thursday, May 9, at Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco as part of PopScene Club Night. Music starts about 9:30pm.

Does this music remind you of Queen? That’s not by accident. But Major Powers and the Lo-Fi Symphony isn’t a tribute band; they’re the inventors of what they call Adventure Rock. It may surprise you that all of this sound comes from a trio, and the trio is from Crockett, California.
