Bay Area Celtic harper and multi-instrumentalist Chris Caswell passed away last month. This Saturday at 3 pm, Folk Music & Beyond presents a retrospective of Chris' solo work and his collaborations with Scottish bard Robin Williamson and local musician Danny Carnahan. Plus excerpts from Chris' live performances on KALW.

KALW's Saturday music hosts join forces to present a five-hour folk extravaganza of continuous live music performed by some of the Bay Area's finest talent. Enjoy the Scottish fiddling of Alasdair Fraser, the powerhouse vocals of Teresa Trull and Barbara Higbie, the original songs of Caren Armstrong, and the homegrown bluegrass of Them Boys and the Sycamore Slough String Band. Veteran Irish Folk Musician Mick Moloney and fiddler Athena Tergis will stop by the KALW studios this Saturday at 4 pm. They'll play a few tunes and talk about Mick's research into the music of Irish-Americans and their contributions to vaudeville and Tin Pan Alley.
