Directions to KALW Studios

KALW's Main Phone Numbers (415) 841-4121 (office) (415) 841-4134 (studio line) Driving Directions (Note:  The KALW studios are not located directly at 500 Mansell St, so using online map searches is NOT recommended.) From San Francisco and East Bay: Take 101 South, exit at Paul Avenue.  At the stop sign at the end of the ramp, cross San Bruno Ave. and continue straight up Mansell Street.  Follow Mansell up the steep hill, go seven blocks, passing Philip and Sala Burton High School on your right, and take the next right at Bowdoin.  Go downhill one block and make a right turn on Olmstead.  Pass through the fencing and take an immediate right through a second fence, continue around the building on your left.  KALW's main doors are the first double doors on the left, marked with a small sign: 91.7 KALW.  Take care not to park in marked fire lanes. From the Peninsula and San Francisco Airport and other points South: Take 101 North, take the Paul Avenue exit.  At the first stop light, take a left onto Paul Ave.  Continue under the overpass, then make a left onto San Bruno Ave. Go to the first stop sign and turn right onto Mansell St.  Follow Mansell up the steep hill, go seven blocks, passing Philip and Sala Burton High School on your right, and take the next right at Bowdoin.  Go downhill one block and make a right turn on Olmstead.  Pass through the fencing and take an immediate right through a second fence, continue around the building on your left.  KALW's main doors are the first double doors on the left, marked with a small sign: 91.7 KALW.  Take care not to park in marked fire lanes. Public Transportation: The Muni 29 Sunset bus line runs on Mansell Street.  Coming from the Mission District, the closest stop to KALW is at Dartmouth Street.  Continue walking down Mansell one block to the intersection of Bowdoin Street.  (If you're coming UP Mansell from San Bruno Ave, the bus will stop just prior to Bowdoin, right after passing the Philip & Sala Burton High School).  Cross Mansell and go downhill one block and make a right turn on Olmstead.  Pass through the gate and take an immediate right through second gate, up driveway and around the building on the left.  KALW's main doors are first double doors on the left, marked with a small sign: 91.7 KALW. via BART: get off at the Balboa Park Station where you can catch a Muni 29 Sunset bus (see above).
