   Live performances in the KALW studios from 3-8 pm; bluegrass and/or
    old time bands are featured from 6:30 - 8 pm.

May 2: Going to the Races
   It's Kentucky Derby day, so a good time to listen to bluegrass songs
    about horses and racing.

May 9: Back To Old Kentucky
   The location of the aforementioned event, and a place that has inspired
    dozens of memorable bluegrass songs.

May 16: Across the Tracks
   New releases and reissues.

May 23: Happy Birthday, Ken Irwin
   Le grand fromage of Rounder Records (the most important indie in the
    known world) turns 65, so let's celebrate with a listen to just a bit of
    the music he's produced and/or released.

May 30 & June 6: Gearing Up For Grass Valley
   Music from some of those taking part in the 34th annual Father's Day
    Festival, including Bill Clifton, Chris Stuart & Backcountry, Claire
    Lynch Band, Dailey & Vincent, Dan Paisley & the Southern Grass,
    49 Special, The Grascals, Junior Sisk & Rambler's Choice, Stairwell
    Sisters, The SteelDrivers, and The Tuttles.

June 13: The Banjo’s African Roots
   An exploration that’s led to some interesting collaborations, including
    Bob Carlin & Cheick Hamala Diabaté, Jayme Stone & Mansa Sissoko, and
    Bela Fleck with many musicians on his “Throw Down Your Heart” excursion.

June 20 & 27: I'll Never Grow Tired Of You (No matter what you may do ...)
   Live recordings of the Stanley Brothers in concert during the 1950s and
    '60s. With guest co-host (and fellow Carter & Ralph fan) Todd Gracyk.
